Emily carefully pulled the suitcase out from behind the trunk and carried it closer to the small attic window. The leather was worn, the metal clasps were rusty, and it looked as though nobody had touched it in decades. After a little effort, she managed to open it. But what she found inside was nothing like the old clothes or forgotten belongings she had expected.
